Slack is modern IRC for getting things done at work. I like it, as it offers permanent channels to people and groups I need to talk to regularly. This iOS app allows me to use it on the run. Skype and Lync can now ditch their chat messaging. I only use them for voice calls since my company introduced Slack.

many apps might promise the same - you have to use it to experience the work flow

Not only the opportunity to have several teams, also ditching spam-filters running havoc by sharing files directly saves time and money...

Works great! Needs Skype functionality, than it is perfect.

Great co-working tool especially when in different geographic locations that turns your MacBook and iPhone into a digital office.

It messed up my channels. Different teams are now mixed, with people from different teams showing up in all teams, channels seem to switch teams as well. Looking forward to a fix

I really liked this app. However since 3.0 update around May, 1 2016 this app crashes at startup right away. This app turns into an unusable item. Hope this will get fixed soon. As of today its not providing any value. My configuration is iPhone 6s plus, latest iOS.

Unauthorized card charges and no response

There is no real benefit of slack over email. The reason I hate it is that now I get on notification per sentence, rather than one per email -- that is, if I want to follow an important subject, and I turn on the notification for all activity in the group/channel. Also, you would think that because now it is channels and groups, and not email threads then you should be able to rename them and move them around. No! Actually, you cant even give a name to a group chat. Finally, the real bummer is that e-mail filters are actually much more powerful than slacks abilities to filter out the important stuff. For example, Slack does not allow you to move an important thread.. you can only get notified about the "keywords" you set, but then you have to go through the whole channel every time you want to look at one of threads containing them. Too much hype over nothing!!

Dont know what went wrong but suddenly started crashing. It was working just perfect. Restarted my phone, closed app and reopened it, but still the same.

Been working with it over a year or so, we cant live without it anymore.

We are currently using this app to collaborate with over 90 folks from different regions of the country! Theres a learning curve but once you get it, its pretty effective! Love it! Thanks slack!
